the first major winter storm is taking shape in the desert southwest, now heading for areas of north texas, colorado and kansas, so it's pretty rural areas, not a lot of big cities affected by the heavy snow, but blizzard warnings do affect portions of five different states, where oklahoma and kansas and texas all meet. denver will not get much out of this, but pueblo will see snow. cities like kansas city, oklahoma city and wichita, all the snow should stay farther to your north with kansas city being the closest to it. so, at least some people will definitely be looking at a white christmas out of this. it's been a very cold weekend, definitely felt like winter, finally, and up through new england, but it will warm up today after a chilly start. we will get back up into the 40s in most cases. chances of showers late in the day, pittsburgh and buffalo. we did see snow this weekend. syracuse picked up an inch, cleveland picked up five inches from lake effect, but still no major winter storms are heading this way, at least through the workweek. by the time we go through this afternoon, also
